New market data and order entry switches

To provide participants with further growth opportunities and to ensure additional network capacity to serve new participants in the future, Eurex has decided to introduce a sixth 10Gbit/s market data switch (only B side) to increase capacity. Additionally, Eurex also introduced a sixth 10Gbit/s order entry switch (only B side).

Production start: 29 March 2021

Sixth 10Gbit/s market data switch (only B side)

The market data connections on the sixth switch (only B side) can be ordered via the Eurex Member Section. In order to choose a specific switch for an ordered connection, please contact your Technical Key Account Manager.

Trading Participants who wish to use the new connections starting 29 March 2021 should place their orders by 12 February 2021 at the latest.

Sixth 10Gbit/s order entry switch (only B side)

The order entry connections on the sixth switch (only B side) can be ordered via the Eurex Member Section. In order to choose a specific switch for an ordered connection, please contact your Technical Key Account Manager.

Trading Participants who wish to use the new connections starting 29 March 2021 should place their orders by 12 February 2021 at the latest.

Connection limits

The overall connection limits, as defined in the current GTC to the Connection Agreement and GTC to the Provider Connection Agreement with a maximum of 36 10Gbit/s order entry and 32 10Gbit/s market data connections per Trading Participant, will remain unchanged.

No action required. 
Note: As an additional temporary restriction during the pre-launch phase before 29 March 2021, ordering of maximum two connections for the sixth market data switch will be possible.

Market Status

XEUR

The market status window is an indication regarding the current technical availability of the trading system. It indicates whether news board messages regarding current technical issues of the trading system have been published or will be published shortly.

Please find further information about incident handling in the Emergency Playbook published on the Eurex webpage under Support --> Emergencies and safeguards. Detailed information about incident communication, market re-opening procedures and best practices for order and trade reconciliation can be found in the chapters 4.2, 4.3 and 4.5, respectively. Concrete information for the respective incident will be published during the incident via newsboard message. 

We strongly recommend not to take any decisions based on the indications in the market status window but to always check the production news board for comprehensive information on an incident.
