Position limits only apply to long call or long future positions in equity and ETF/ETC derivatives with potential physical underlying delivery. Note that for the calculation of the total position, standard as well as Flex contracts with physical delivery are taken into account. A netting between long and short positions does not take place. Cash settled equity and ETF/ETC contracts are not taken into account to calculate the total position, unless stated otherwise in contract specifications.
In contrast, for Bloomberg Commodity Index derivatives, a netting between long and short position takes place to calculate the total position, so that position limits are applied to the net position.
Sufficient notice is given before expiration via circular for special position limits for long positions in front month contracts of the Euro Fixed Income Futures.
Position limits for all products can be found in our Product Search by filling in the respective Eurex product in the search box and then switching to the "Stats" tab or in the complete list of all Eurex products in csv format available for download at the bottom of that page.
Further information can be found in the Exchange Rules under “Position Limits” (§14).
