MSCI and STOXX Index derivatives: Changes of terms, tick sizes and ISINs

Eurex Circular 052/23 MSCI and STOXX Index derivatives: Changes of terms, tick sizes and ISINs

1.   Introduction

The Management Board of Eurex Deutschland ("Eurex") made the following decisions with effect from 24 July 2023:

  • to extend the terms of two MSCI Futures contracts (FMWO, FMEP) and two STOXX Index derivatives (FMCE, OMCE),
  • to adjust the tick sizes for TES transactions in MSCI Options contracts,
  • to convert “XC”- ISINs to ”GB”-ISINs for certain Indices.

Production start: 24 July 2023

2.   Required action

There is no specific action required for participation.

3.   Details

a)   Based on customer requests, the maximum term of four products will be extended according to the table in Attachment 1.

b)   The tick size for the entry of TES transactions in the MSCI Index options listed in the table in Attachment 1 will be reduced accordingly in order to improve the tradability of these products. The tick size in the order book remains unchanged.

c)   For the last product launch of MSCI derivatives on 12 June 2023, Eurex did not receive the official GB-ISINs for the underlying indices in time. Instead, so-called Dummy-ISINs (beginning with „XC“) were used, which had been provided by WM-Datenservice. Now, the change to the GB-ISINs shall take place.

Effective 24 July 2023, the changes detailed in the table in Attachment 1 will be made, whereby no change will be made to the ISINs of MSCI derivatives, only to the ISINs of the indices used.

The updated sections of the Contract Specifications for Futures Contracts and Options Contracts at Eurex Deutschland can be found in Attachments 2 and 2A.
