This publication provides members with information about the European Corporate Actions Committee (ECAC), of which Eurex Deutschland is a member. Eurex Deutschland intends to take the opportunity of the upcoming ECAC meeting, scheduled for 29 September 2026, to reaffirm the ongoing collaborative work carried out between European derivatives exchanges.
The member exchanges of ECAC, Eurex Deutschland, Euronext, ICE Futures Europe, MEFF (BME Group, a SIX Company) and Nasdaq Stockholm, maintain regular and constructive dialogue on topics of common interest related to Corporate Actions affecting derivatives contracts.
This dialogue and coordination continue today within ECAC. In this context, the Committee continues to encourage best practice among listed companies in publishing shareholder remuneration policies, communicating any changes in good time, and providing clarity on the nature of any dividend. This kind of transparency supports the proper formation of share prices and the accurate valuation of derivatives instruments, to the benefit of issuers and market participants alike.
The cooperation between ECAC members has been demonstrated through joint publications, such as the Guidelines for the Treatment of Dividends on Derivative Contracts, which were developed during the COVID‑19 pandemic, when European derivatives exchanges worked closely together to align approaches and promote consistent treatment in an exceptional environment.
ECAC member exchanges remain committed to ongoing collaboration, with the objective of promoting consistent market practices and contributing to the stability, efficiency and integrity of European derivatives markets. The forthcoming ECAC meeting in September will provide a further opportunity for the exchanges to continue these discussions and to reinforce their shared commitment to cooperation and alignment on matters relevant to market participants.
Market participants are invited to reach out to Eurex with any suggestions for further improvement on the adjustment of Derivatives contracts after a Corporate Action.
