What are the trading hours for Eurex products?

An overview of the trading hours can be found here.

Is the partial execution of an order more costly than a full, immediate execution?

Eurex Deutschland charges its exchange members a fixed fee per contract. From Eurex Deutschland's point of view it is immaterial whether an order placed results in one or several individual trades.

Please note:
The terms and conditions, and the fee schedules applied by financial services providers, banks, or brokers is at the discretion of the respective institution. Please contact the institution directly for this information.

Why are no delayed quotes available on the Eurex website for certain options and why is "n/a" displayed instead?

Eurex Deutschland's website displays the prices of all Eurex products subject to a delay of 15 minutes. The time and date of price determination is displayed on the right-hand side next to "Last Price". The "Opening Price", and a "High" and "Low" are also displayed if a trade was concluded in one of the products on the same day.

If, however, no transaction has occurred in an option during the day, "Last Price" is not displayed. In this case, the latest price available for this option is the "Daily Settlement Price" of the previous day (which is also displayed).

If you are looking for a binding bid or ask quote for an option, then you can ask your financial services provider, bank or broker to submit a quote request. One of the market-makers covering this product will then provide you with a tradable price that is valid for a certain period of time.

If no price is available, how can I receive a tradeable bid and ask quote for certain options?

Eurex exchange members - called market-makers - have committed to provide binding bid and ask quotes (either on demand, responding to quote requests, or permanently) for all options products traded at Eurex Deutschland.

An overview of Eurex products and the responsible market-makers can be found here.

The market-maker agreement does not bind participants to answer all quote requests, but stipulates a figure in both percentage and absolute terms. Thanks to the numerous market-makers, the response rate to quote requests at Eurex Deutschland is close to 100%.

Market-makers failing to meet their obligations will be warned by Eurex Deutschland, and repeat offenders risk losing their market-maker license for the respective product.

Do financial services providers, banks or brokers get improved trading prices, compared to those available to private investors?

The order books for equity, equity index, EXTF and interest rate products are maintained in accordance with the price-time priority principle. According to this principle, orders with the best price limit have the highest priority in the order book. If there are several buy or sell orders with the same price limit, these orders are sorted by the time they were placed in the system. The earlier an order was placed, the higher its execution priority - regardless of who placed it.

Can exchange members with direct access see buy or sell stop orders in the order book?

Stop orders and market orders are not visible in the order book for any market participant. Stop orders are only triggered upon reaching the stop limit. In this case they are automatically entered as market orders in the Eurex order book, where they are executed according to the price-time priority principle.
