Release date: 02 Aug 2018 | Eurex Exchange

No. 059/2018 Activation of Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 encryption for e-mail communication on 17 December 2018

Unencrypted e-mail traffic poses a great risk to businesses. In order to mitigate this threat, Deutsche Börse Group will start sending only encrypted e-mails to its customers as of Monday, 17 December 2018. Deutsche Börse Group will activate the Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 protocol for all its e-mail gateway servers in order to safeguard against the risk of data loss and to protect confidentiality of critical data that will be sent by Deutsche Börse Group to its customers. TLS will be used as the primary encryption method. As a result, all outgoing e-mails will be encrypted as of 17 December 2018.

We urge our customers to ensure that all future e-mail communication with Deutsche Börse Group is performed via TLS encryption.
