Wholesale Trading Facilities

The Eurex Wholesale Trading facilities enable participants to enter off-order book trades in the Eurex® system. With these facilities you can benefit from the flexibility of customized trading and the advantages of standardized clearing and settlement.

Most facilities are pure OTC Trade Entry facilities with bilateral agreement of price and quantities. Block Auction Requests also facilitate the fully anonymous price discovery and counterparty search for large size trades.

Wholesale Trading Facilities at Eurex: Development of Trading Volume (in Million Contracts, Single Counted)

The Eurex Wholesale Trading facilities show increased interest: over 856 million contracts were traded in total in 2008 - this amount represents an increase of 44% compared to a total of 594 million contracts traded in 2007. The main driver was the equity index options segment, accounting over 394 million traded contracts (46% of the overall wholesale volume).

In 2008 the strongest increase within a segment was registered in the Single Stock Futures segment where the total volume rose by 151% on a yearly basis to 130 million wholesale traded contracts.
