Connection AlternativesEurex gives customers the flexibility to choose how they connect to the integrated, fully electronic derivatives trading and clearing platform. In order to meet client expectations with respect to innovative, reliable and cost-efficient technologies, Eurex offers connection alternatives designed to meet the needs of all types of participants via dedicated lines and/or the internet for access to the Eurex Exchange or Eurex Clearing. To keep pace with technological advances as well as meet customer demand for speed and reliability Eurex continually optimizes its technology. For that reason, Eurex established its so-called Technology Roadmap, which is the exchange's strategic plan for evaluating and implementing software and hardware enhancements addressing the latest developments in electronic trading and clearing. Examples of enhancements already introduced are the deployment of the popular optional market data and high-frequency trading interfaces, Enhanced Broadcast Solution and Enhanced Transaction Solution. In combination with various software features, these measures have further improved system performance, which has been the key to accommodating the growth in high-frequency trading strategies in the marketplace. Building on the success of its first two optional interfaces, in March 2010 Eurex launched a third optional interface, the Enhanced Risk Solution. With this risk interface, Eurex Clearing became the first clearing house to give members access to margin requirements and open positions via one stream - in real-time. With Eurex Release 13.0, which will go live in November 2010, Eurex will introduce the next member of its optional interface family: the Enhanced Confirmation Solution. This interface enables members to receive recoverable order, trade and matching event information. The Enhanced Confirmation Solution provides information that was previously solely delivered via the MISS server. Though members will still need to maintain a MISS server in order to perform a small number of functions, the introduction of the Enhanced Confirmation Solution brings the exchange another step closer towards decommissioning the MISS architecture. Eurex's cutting-edge interfaces provide a number of benefits to users, namely increased customization, hardware independence, and flexibility. |
