Connection Alternatives

Eurex is an integrated, fully electronic derivatives trading and clearing system. The Eurex clearing functionality also supports clearing of equities, bonds and repos traded on FWB® Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse (the Frankfurt Stock Exchange)/Xetra®, Eurex Bonds or Eurex Repo respectively.

In order to meet client expectations with respect to innovative, reliable and cost-efficient technologies, Eurex offers connection options designed to meet the needs of participants via dedicated lines and/or the Internet for access to Eurex derivatives trading and clearing.

Our connection options can be split into standard connections, which are used by all Eurex participants, and the optional "socket-based" services Enhanced Broadcast Solution and Enhanced Transaction Solution, which are targeted at the automated trading community. These optional interfaces will only contain the order management functions. The typical overhead instruction that was part of an API is stripped down to the minimum. As a general rule, the dedicated lines are provided and operated by Eurex, reducing time and expense for operation on the participant side. If a dedicated line connection is backed up via an additional dedicated line, another provider is selected for this line where possible in order to maximize the connection's error tolerance. The individual participants are responsible for organizing and managing the Internet connections.

Dedicated line connections always require a back-up connection.
