Overview

Eurex has launched its new software release version 10.0 on November 26, 2007, together with Eurex Enhanced Broadcast Solution, an innovative socket-based interface for the real-time transmission of un-netted market data.

The new release features various functional and technical enhancements that introduce a variety of changes that make our marketplace more attractive for you to trade.

Highlights

  • New Order Attributes
The introduction of two new order attributes "persistent" & "non-persistent" allows for additional customization and helps to further decrease transaction processing time of orders when selecting the attribute "non-persistent". more

  • New Pre-Trade Risk Measures
Eurex Members benefit from new pre-trade risk protection features that help to optimize risk control to further increase the security of the entire marketplace. more

  • Extension of Eurex Wholesale Offer - OTC Flexible Futures
To further ease the handling of Wholesale/OTC transactions, we introduce OTC Flexible Futures and enhance existing OTC Flexible Options entry features. more

  • New Socket-based Interface "Eurex Enhanced Broadcast Solution" for Un-Netted and Real-time Market Data
Under the framework of the Eurex Technology Roadmap, an advanced socket-based interface Eurex Enhanced Broadcast Solution is available to members. Eurex Enhanced Broadcast Solution allows user to receive un-netted market data information in real-time. With the new socket-based interface, which is optional for market participants, you also can receive market depth for options traded at Eurex.

Another optional socket-based interface Eurex Enhanced Transaction Solution, scheduled for the first half of 2008, is geared to facilitate the efficient management of trading activity.

Special Focus:

Limited Backwards Compatibility
The introduction of a new alphanumeric order and trade ID format implies that Eurex Release 10.0 is not backwards compatible, if an in-house or third party software system cannot handle alphanumeric order and trade ID formats. Therefore, all members are required to upgrade their systems including all in-house applications that communicate with the Eurex VALUES API interface.

However, the new software may be backwards compatible in some cases. For example, some Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) can already handle alpha-numeric formats and we kindly ask you to discuss with your software supplier the potential impact.
