New Order Attributes - The Choice is YoursUntil the introduction of Eurex Release 10.0, orders and quotes in the Eurex® system remained in the order book - even in the case of a system outage. Once the trading system was reset to the pre-trading phase, the original order was still available in the order book. In order to enhance overall system performance, we now introduce order attributes for products that are matched according to price/time priority. Now you can select whether your orders will be backed up in the event of a system failure. By instituting these new order attributes Eurex has adopted a major technological upgrade that will greatly optimize order-specific processing as well as system-wide performance. New Order AttributesWith Eurex Release 10.0, the following order attributes can be assigned:
Failover Scenarios
The matrix below illustrates what happens to "persistent" and "non-persistent" orders in cases of a trading interruption
or host failure.
Restrictions
Many different order types can be designated as either "persistent" or "non-persistent". Certain order types however,
may only be entered with a specific order attribute. Regardless of in which account you are trading (A, P or M),
the following restrictions apply:
All existing "Good-Till-Cancelled" and "Good-Till-Date" orders that are in the system as of the introduction
of Eurex Release 10.0 will be treated as "persistent" and will still be available in the book. All other
orders will be automatically deleted from the system. All quotes will be treated as "non-persistent" and they
will be automatically deleted from the system.
Focus on Simulation
We strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the new "persistent" and "non-persistent"
order attributes. You can do this by using the Eurex Release 10.0 simulation environment,
which is available from mid September onwards. Practicing in our virtual marketplace will help you
effectively utilize these order attributes immediately after the launch of the new release.
1As a general rule, all orders can be entered as "persistent", whereas some orders cannot be flagged with the attribute "non-persistent".
