Exchange Council Elections for the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and Eurex on November 11

Joint Press Release Deutsche Börse and Eurex

03 Aug 2004
Elections for the Exchange Councils of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB) and Eurex Germany will take place on November 11, as announced by both the FWB and Eurex on Tuesday. Election nominations can be submitted to the election committees at both exchanges until September 10.

All companies admitted to trading on the exchanges and all companies with shares listed on the Official or Regulated Markets of the FWB are eligible to take part in the elections. For the Exchange Council of the FWB this includes more than 2,000 companies from 17 countries; for the Exchange Council of Eurex Germany, around 400 companies from 18 countries. Each Exchange Council is composed of 22 members.

The Council is the highest controlling and supervisory body of any stock exchange. Its main responsibilities are to appoint and supervise the exchange’s general management, as well as to issue the exchange rules, fee schedule, and the conditions for transactions on the exchange. The Exchange Council’s term of office last three years. All relevant information concerning the Exchange Council elections can be found on the internet at http://deutsche-boerse.com/elections (for the FWB) and http://www.eurexchange.com (for Eurex Germany).
