Eurex Introduces Three New Options on MDAX Equities

Options on Beiersdorf, Hypo Real Estate Holding and Puma tradable as of May 24

28 Apr 2004
Eurex, the world’s largest derivatives exchange, will be introducing three new equity options on the MDAX securities Beiersdorf, Hypo Real Estate Holding and Puma on May 24. The new equity options will be listed in the "German shares" segment and will feature the appropriate specifications: one hundred shares shall underlie each Hypo Real Estate contract, while ten shares shall underlie each Beiersdorf and Puma contract. The options will be physically settled and they have a maturity of up to one year.

A total of 153 equity options are tradable on Eurex, 114 of which are based on international securities and 39 of which are based on German securities. Last year, around 188 million equity options contracts were traded on Eurex, which corresponds to around 20 percent of Eurex’s trading volume and makes equity options one of the exchange’s fastest growing products.
