Eurex, the international derivatives market, is expanding the selection of technical access alternatives for participants to include Internet-based solutions. Effective immediately, banks and securities trading firms now have three new access alternatives from which to choose, in addition to the connection via terrestrian dedicated lines that has existed up to now a total of four access alternatives distinguished by different performance features and degrees of failover security. With the new access portfolio, Eurex market participants can now meet their individual business requirements even more efficiently.

The Premium Access commonly used up to now consists of two dedicated lines that connect the member's server directly to the nearest access point. This form of access is particularly suitable for participants with high trading volumes because it offers a maximum in terms of performance and failover security. The Combined-Access alternative consists of a dedicated line and an Internet connection as an additional line, the ideal solution for Eurex participants with average requirements. The iAccess alternative, which is exclusively Internet-based, is especially suitable for participants with low trading volumes who want to make use of the entire spectrum of functions provided by the MISS (Member Integrated System Server) infrastructure. The @Eurex access alternative is the simplest and cheapest form of access to Eurex. An Internet connection and a standardized front-end give the participant access to an exchange-operated Multi-Member MISS. Minimum transaction fees are applicable for each of the four access alternatives in varying ranges. Depending on their business requirements, participants can now also choose the cheaper Internet-based alternatives, which makes it possible for them to reduce their costs.

With the additional access alternatives, Eurex is also developing new groups of participants. Because the costs of the cheapest access alternative are far below the previous level, Eurex will become even more attractive also for trading houses with lower trading volumes.
